What is a Blue Zone?
A Blue Zone is one of five geographic regions where people live statistically longer and healthier lives than the rest of the world. The term “Blue Zone” was coined by author and researcher Dan Buettner (working alongside National Geographic), identifying areas that boast an unusually high concentration of centenarians who manage to stay active, sharp, and free of chronic illnesses well into old age.
